TERMINATION SHOCK

Band:MAJEURE
Album:TERMINATION SHOCK
Label:MUSIC FEAR SATAN
Format:CD
Genre:Zombi/Goblin

MUSICFEARSATAN is very honored to release "Termination Shock", the third album from MAJEURE (A.E. Paterra of ZOMBI). Described by Paterra as his coldest and darkest work yet, the eight tracks deliver very personal, minimal, and intimate ambient music, a mix between kraut rock and new age music with infinite layers of synthesizers in the vein of TANGERINE DREAM or STEVE REICH. Unlike his ZOMBI partner STEVE MOORE, who is very influenced by synthesizer based music of the 70's and 80's for his solo works, Majeure's music reminds us of the cold digital aesthetics of the late 90's and 2000's - like a forgotten David Lynch soundtrack.

MAJEURE is the solo project of ZOMBI (RELAPSE RECORDS) drummer / The two previous MAJEURE's records were released on TEMPORARY RESIDENCE (GRAILS, EXPLOSIONS IN THE SKY, MONO, etc.) / MAJEURE toured Europe in 2014 with TRANS AM AND played ROADBURN FESTIVAL 2015.

For fans of JOHN CARPENTER, GOBLIN and STEVE REICH

SABBATH ASSEMBLY - CD

Band:SABBATH ASSEMBLY
Album:SABBATH ASSEMBLY - CD
Label:SVART
Format:CD
Genre:Stoner/Doom/Occult/Sludge Metal

Sabbath Assembly's new album marks a new beginning for the band: its “Great Schism” from the Process Church of the Final Judgment. Like the albatross falling from the mariner’s neck, the band has freed itself from the cult’s theology in order to explore its own creations with no special guest appearances or narrative frills. Sabbath Assembly is, in fact, a decidedly metal offering, for in the writing, the band returned to its own personal roots in the dark age of the '80s. These are Sabbath Assembly’s own “hymns” for their own “church” – a place marked by passion, devotion, and the gospel of metal. The primary thematic difference between Sabbath Assembly and its predecessors is that this album is about embodiment, addressing all the power and grit required to endure our human existence, rather than addressing spiritual philosophy alone. While the songs reference occult literature, such as Robert Chambers’ The King in Yellow, Valeri Briussov’s The Fiery Angel of Desire, and The Gospel of Thomas, these texts were chosen not because of their abstraction from the mundane, but rather their propensity to embrace it as a means to spiritual understanding. If something is to be taken away from the new Sabbath Assembly album, it is this: the mysteries of occult philosophy are revealed not through celestial charts and diagrams, but rather the subtleties of earthly love and loss. CD Format.

STRAIGHT SHOOTER

Band:SPEEDTRAP
Album:STRAIGHT SHOOTER
Label:SVART
Format:CD
Genre:Metal

Speedtrap’s sophomore album, Straight Shooter, will hit the shops September 11th via Svart Records. Speedtrap's debut album, Powerdose, took many by surprise and left many established acts eating dust on several end-of-the-year lists in 2013. Metal Hammer called it "metal fed on a diet of Motorhead and alcohol, Exciter and suspect powders – high octane and hellbent for leather” while InvisibleOranges.com considered it a “fist-raising triumph.” Since then, Speedtrap have performed across the European continent and also gone through some lineup changes: Jaakko Hietakangas (ex- Ranger) has joined the ranks as second guitarist, and Antti Salminen has taken up bass duties while earlier bassist Markus Hietamies has switched to the drum-set. Even though Speedtrap still are a loud, obnoxious bunch of catchy riff-mongers with no regard for speed limits, Straight Shooter also showcases the band’s ability to push the envelope and, with their new dual-guitar setup, write memorable songs that twist and turn like a drag racer on LSD.

ORDEAL

Band:SKEPTICISM
Album:ORDEAL
Label:SVART
Format:CD
Genre:Stoner/Doom/Occult/Sludge Metal

A legendary name in metal circles, Skepticism are widely hailed as one of the originators of funeral doom. Their first album for Svart and fifth overall, Ordeal is also the first Skepticism full-length since 2008's Alloy. But instead of going the usual recording-in-the-studio route, the band decided to record this new album live before an audience on January 24th at Klubi in Turku, Finland, with the event also captured on film. A truly unique experience for a truly unique band, Ordealis a honest and accurate summary of what Skepticism is in 2015. "Recording the album live was a positive experience. I've come to think of Skepticism being at its best live, and the Ordeal session proved it for me," says keyboardist Eero Pöyry. "Having a whole day to concentrate in one shot at a perfect performance brought in a good pressure - and a bit of an ordeal, as well." Adds drummer Lasse Pelkonen, "Recording live made the album sound a bit rough and dirty, which is suitable for us in any case." "Recording live suited me well as a musician," Eero continues. "Only being able to fit in what your hands and feet can do at a time made me play only the essential." The album will be available as a CD/DVD bundle and also as a LP/DVD set, featuring visual documentation of the whole Ordeal performance. "It is hard to think of a more street-credible approach to recording an album," contends Lasse. "I think metal is good only if one can recognize it as such by sound and arrangement. This happens on Ordeal." "Life is an ordeal, the album is about ordeal, and making the album was an ordeal," guitarist Jani Kekarainen explains. "To me, the music of Skepticism is essentially dynamic and atmospheric. These qualities in music are best presented live. Hence, recording live made it possible to capture the most authentic result for the album." Adds Lasse, "I am personally very happy with the new songs. They contain a lot of atmospheric changes and layering but still sound like Skepticism." "It is difficult not to be and difficult to be," concludes vocalist Matti. "Ordeal is what music is - genuine without further explanation."

CD PLUS DVD FORMAT.
