EMBLEM ALBUM

Band:BLEVIN BLECTUM
Album:EMBLEM ALBUM
Label:AAGOO RECORDS
Format:CD
Genre:Avantgarde/Electronic

Blevin Blectum is a wordless sonic-world-builder, a sound designer situated precariously on a scaffolding of loosely precise and drastically personal time and structure - a creature of speculative sonic fictions. She has performed electronic music / multimedia worldwide since 1998. She also tours and records with her better Blectal half, Kevin Blechdom. Together they form the doubly-troubled entity BLECTUM FROM BLECHDOM. They tied for second prize in 2001, bagging the Ars Electronica Award of Distinction in Digital Musics (Linz, Austria) for their first full-length album The Messy Jesse Fiesta. Blevin Blectum's most recent collaboration is with her brother Kelley Polar, co-producing live radio play science fiction for violin, viola, electronics, voices, and theatrical objects. Her fifth solo album, EMBLEM ALBUM, released on the effervescent and always- spot-on AAGOO label on December 7th 2013, picks up where her critically acclaimed 2008 release GULAR FLUTTER left off. The Wire magazine (UK) tapped GULAR FLUTTER as one of its top 15 Electronic records of 2008.

MAN IN A SUITCASE

Band:ORIGINAL SOUNDTRACK
Album:MAN IN A SUITCASE
Label:NETWORK
Format:VINYL LP
Genre:TV and MOVIE

Official vinyl release (one off pressing) . Music by Albert Elms with the legendary theme by Ron Grainer. All in glorious Mono.

A discredited ex-CIA agent reduced to working as a private investigator, McGill travels the world as a ‘gun for hire’. In place of the glitz and glamour of sixties private eyes, his world is one of uncertainty, tough decisions and a constant struggle to survive. Richard Bradford’s astonishing method acting gives Man in a Suitcase a genuine edge and intensity that’s reflected in Ron Grainer’s driving, relentless main title, a dynamic theme employing strident piano and brass that has become a genre classic. Against this dynamic signature tune, Albert Elms’ incidental cues provide contrasting moods throughout the series, reflecting a diverse range of global settings and following every pitfall on the rocky career path of the outsider known only as McGill.

Never before released on vinyl - New transfers from original analogue tape elements - Mastering/vinyl cutting by Ray Staff - High quality pressing by the renowned Pallas pressing plant in Germany - 180g virgin vinyl – superb sound reproduction!

RANDALL AND HOPKIRK (DECEASED)

Band:ORIGINAL SOUNDTRACK
Album:RANDALL AND HOPKIRK (DECEASED)
Label:NETWORK
Format:VINYL LP
Genre:TV and MOVIE

Never before available on vinyl with stunning new transfers..the original soundtrack selections of the cult TV show with music by Edwin Astley in glorious Mono.

Working from a shabby suite of offices in Central London, Jeff Randall and Marty Hopkirk are two private detectives with a twist - one of them's a ghost! With both theme and incidental music supplied by the versatile Edwin Astley, he returns here to the harpsichord - an instrument he had previously employed to great effect in the theme for the hour-long Danger Man series. Astley furnished Randall & Hopkirk (Deceased) with a minor key main title theme, the lead instrument intoning a plaintive melody over an upbeat, rhythmic brass section - perfectly matching the series’ balance of drama and humour. The harpsichord recurs throughout the incidental cues, as well as providing a memorable ‘sting’ whenever the ghostly Marty pops in and out of the action.

THINGS THAT PEOPLE LOVE TO REMEMBER

Band:NADINE CARINA
Album:THINGS THAT PEOPLE LOVE TO REMEMBER
Label:African Tape
Format:CD
Genre:Folk

Born in Switzerland but currently residing in Liverpool, Nadine graduated from the renowned Liverpool Institute of Performing Arts and is now releasing her six song EP this Autumn. Nadine plays acoustic guitar but likes to experiment with looping vintage toys, small percussive instruments and electronic drum beats. Her vocals have previously lent Nadine fans from some of music’s favourite outlets including The 405, Artrocker and Bido Lito Magazine as well as support slots for Coco Rosie, MS MR and How To Dress Well so far this year. Lead track, The Love, was one of the first tracks written for the EP and is based upon a romance that didn’t go to plan, with a girl infactuated by a boy whose feelings were not mutual. Bon Iver was Nadine’s main influence when writing this song, which has already had plays from new emerging music lovers, Amazing Radio. Nadine’s songs for the EP were initially based around the idea of things that she and other people often think about, memories that play a major part in a person’s life leading to the EP’s title Things That People Love To Remember. Her well curated percussive and electronic lines create atmospheric landscapes that sound much greater than the solo performances Nadine plays.

SAMBA DUB EXPERIENCE

Band:MAD PROFESSOR
Album:SAMBA DUB EXPERIENCE
Label:ARIWA
Format:CD
Genre:Reggae/Dub/Ska

Samba – Dub

What is the connection?

On first impression not much. On stripping down both rhytms Mad Professor found that they are quite similar, with Samba being a close cousin to the Mento / Calypso beats from which Reggae and Dub evolved!

Clearly, music is the main culture to survive the journey across the Atlantic during the slave trade : Samba Dub Experience is the main theme of that journey!!

STRANGE DOORWAYS

Band:BLIZARO
Album:STRANGE DOORWAYS
Label:ATMF
Format:2CD
Genre:Stoner/Doom/Occult/Sludge Metal

Known mainly as the founder of superb doomsters ORODRUIN and now-defunct black metallers CRUCIFIST, John Gallo has many alter egos and exciting musical incarnations, though BLIZARO is certainly the most adventurous and unpredictable of all. BLIZARO's songs are like dark portals leading to mysterious and macabre dimensions populated by mutants, ghosts, ghouls, and other unearthly presences. John Gallo tells us their stories of horror and madness using his own peculiar doom rock language, assisted by the unquestionable talents of Mike Waske (drums) and Mark Rapone (bass).

Musically, the band shortens the distances between the American way of doom and the school of Paul Chain and Black Hole, at the same time combining the so called "dark sound" and the heavy-psych/prog rock styles of the Seventies with the frightening synth-driven soundtracks composed by Goblin and Fabio Frizzi for Italian horror movies like Suspiria and The Beyond. BLIZARO demo recordings: "Horror Rock" (2006), "Blue Tape" (2008, with a cameo from Peter Vicar of Reverend Bizarre fame!), an expanded version of "The Old Wizard Of Winter" (2009), and the amazing "Blak Majicians" album (2012). Plus lots of rare, unreleased and never-heard-before tracks directly from John Gallo's vaults!

The 2-CD release comes with a luxurious 20-page full-colour booklet featuring extra artwork by Costin Chioreanu, rare band photos, plentiful liner notes by John Brenner of REVELATION, and track-by-track commentaries provided by John Gallo himself!
