HELL IN A BOTTLE

Band:VOMIT DIVISION
Album:HELL IN A BOTTLE
Label:METAL ON METAL RECORDS
Format:CD
Genre:METAL/BLACK/THRASH METAL

Not even a year after the first sign of life, the German maniac VOMIT DIVISION will release the first full-length titled “Hell in a Bottle”. Unleashing a back/thrash pandemonium, pushier than before, especially noticeable in the lyrics. Loaded with more diversified riffing, fresh and unpredictable songwriting, diverse vocals and killer guitar solos! The album takes some unexpected turns while never losing the key aggression, this project inherits. Pure abhorrence, arrogance and a stolid FUCK OFF attitude! More black metal than MIDNIGHT, more rock'n'roll than DESASTER! Sex, drugs and a kick in the guts, VOMIT DIVISION is the perfect soundtrack to fucked-up nights and fucked-up lives!

BLOOD WORLD

Band:MORTIFICATION
Album:BLOOD WORLD
Label:SOUNDMASS
Format:CD
Genre:THRASH METAL

Soundmass are happy to announce their CD re-issue of Mortification’s 1994 album Blood World. The band’s 4th studio album sees them with a new drummer, a new producer and a new sound – unabashedly thrash metal, but with groove and classic metal influences. It was at this point that Mort followers realised that the band would constantly evolve and experiment, never repeating themselves. According to Australian Music Online: “The strange combination of extreme styles began setting Mortification apart from the crowd of same sounding bands and widened the band’s audience as they became quickly recognised as innovators and not imitators.” In fact, despite the popularity of their early classics like Scrolls Of The Megilloth and Post Momentary Affliction, it was actually Blood World that went on to be the best-selling album from Mortification’s entire catalogue. It is a solid slab of thrash full of great songs, some of which became Mort classics.

LIVE PLANETARIUM

Band:MORTIFICATION
Album:LIVE PLANETARIUM
Label:SOUNDMASS
Format:CD
Genre:THRASH/DEATH METAL

Soundmass are happy to announce their CD re-issue of Mortification’s definitive live album Live Planetarium. Recorded in October 1993 at Australia’s iconic Black Stump Festival, Live Planetarium was the fourth Mortification release on Intense Records and their first live album. And what an incredible live show it was, almost flawlessly performed in front of a wild crowd! The set list is a selection of classic songs from their first 3 albums, capturing the diversity of the band’s vision. This is truly Mortification at their greatest, their innovative blend of extreme metal styles setting them apart from the crowd. Their intensity, energy and variation are perfectly captured on this recording – Steve’s thick bass and powerful voice, Michael’s sharp guitar chops and Jayson’s precise drumming – with the incredible production making every instrument clearly heard.

MORTIFICATION

Band:MORTIFICATION
Album:MORTIFICATION
Label:SOUNDMASS
Format:CD
Genre:THRASH/DEATH METAL

Soundmass are happy to announce their CD re-issue of Mortification’s 1991 self-titled album. With releases on label giants like Nuclear Blast and Metal Blade, albums which are considered classics, world tours and a sound that is constantly being reinvented – having delved into death metal, grind, thrash, power metal, groove metal, classic metal and even a touch of punk – Mortification is a band that cannot be put in a box. They are the undisputed pioneers of Christian death/thrash metal and Australia’s most successful metal band. Heavily influenced by the thriving thrash scene of the early 90’s, this album is recommended for fans of Vengeance Rising, Kreator and Destruction.

POST MOMENTARY AFFLICTION

Band:MORTIFICATION
Album:POST MOMENTARY AFFLICTION
Label:SOUNDMASS
Format:CD
Genre:THRASH/SPEED METAL

Soundmass are happy to announce their CD re-issue of Mortification’s 1993 album Post Momentary Affliction. After the pounding death/grind of 1992’s Scrolls Of The Megilloth, this album sees Mortification returning to their thrash roots, but with a refinement and creativity which would see this recording considered a classic. With the influences of Manowar and Iron Maiden on display, we’re treated to a feast of incredible thrash and speed metal that is laced with death metal. Complex songwriting, precise riffing, masterful bass playing, phenomenal drumming, intelligent lyrics performed in a fresh death growl/thrash shout style, all captured with clear and clean production. Recognised by many critics as an innovative album, and arguably seeing this trio crafting songs at their artistic peak, Post Momentary Affliction is distinctly Mortification and showcases everything fans love about this band.

PRIMITIVE RHYTHM MACHINE

Band:MORTIFICATION
Album:PRIMITIVE RHYTHM MACHINE
Label:SOUNDMASS
Format:CD
Genre:THRASH METAL

Soundmass are happy to announce their CD re-issue of Mortification’s 1995 album Primitive Rhythm Machine. Mortification’s 5th studio album is an anomaly of sorts, with no permanent band members except for founder Steve Rowe. Instead he records with his Blood World touring band, plus guitarist George Ochoa (Deliverance/Recon/Worldview), who also produced the album. This was also their last album released on Intense Records. Primitive Rhythm Machine continues where Blood World left off – successfully fusing thrash metal with groove and classic metal influences. However, in line with Mortification’s ever evolving experiment in sound, the production is rawer than its predecessor and, true to the album title, there is a spotlight on the drumming, giving it a Sepultura vibe. The musicianship is innovative and outstanding, providing us with a great album of classic Mortification songs.

SCROLLS OF THE MEGILLOTH

Band:MORTIFICATION
Album:SCROLLS OF THE MEGILLOTH
Label:SOUNDMASS
Format:CD
Genre:DEATH/GRIND METAL

Soundmass are happy to announce their CD re-issue of Mortification’s 1992 album Scrolls Of The Megilloth. Soundmass has gone back to the early years – re-issuing Mortification’s 1992 album Scrolls Of The Megilloth. Hailed by many as the band’s finest hour, this album sees them perfecting a brutal death/grind style that has stood the test of time, even 28 years after its initial release. In talking of the classics of death metal, Scrolls Of The Megilloth is one of those albums that always seems to get mentioned. Heavy, downtuned, fast, chaotic, technical – an extreme metal onslaught with street level credibility.

THE JOURNEY

Album:THE JOURNEY
Label:MY KINGDOM MUSIC

Genre:DARK DECADENT METAL

HELFIR is a Luca Mazzotta's project created to give voice to his passion for Dark Decadent Metal. IN PURGE THERE IS NO REMISSION

Band:ORDINANCE
Album:IN PURGE THERE IS NO REMISSION
Label:THE SINISTER FLAME
Format:CD
Genre:Black Metal

Formed sometime during the beginning of this cursed new millennium, Ordinance have been a study of patience and pride. Not for them to rush out releases; each creation comes when it is ready. No more, no less…no mystique intended. Neither for them is the term “Finnish black metal” appropriate, despite their country of origin; rather, BLACK METAL is the only torch worth bearing in the Ordinance world. The title itself bears especial portent, as musically, Ordinance literally leave no stone unturned in their quest for the ultimate expression of black metal. The sound is immediately and irrevocably BLACK METAL, to be sure, but the duo bend so many unorthodox means to their diabolical design – and, it must be said, effortlessly and unselfconsciously so – that the end result is paradoxically orthodox, or at least a stridently purer iteration of black metal than one would expect given the band’s wild ‘n’ wayward attack. Thus, one could say that In Purge There is No Remission is black metal by language, but Ordinance‘s dialect is an undeniably unique one.
