Grausammler

Band:VARGNATT
Album:Grausammler
Label:Eisenwald
Format:cd
Genre:Black Metal

After two demos and an EP German Vargnatt return with the anticipated follow up 'Grausammler'. The first full lenght manifests a new level in the history of the band, even though the songs are rather puristic the music reveals its depth - dreamscapes woven in desolation, sorrow and hope.
Greatly influenced by the early Burzum Era as well as Ulver's Nattens Madrigal, „Grausammler“ draws the listener into a stream of memorable lead guitars surrounded by harsh vocals. A warm bass-guitar crafts the songs and the drumming by Wiedergaenger (Total Negation, Nachts, ex- Auvandril) rounds it off while fragile string’s and choir performances done by "H.es.a.e. (Nachtreich, Ex-Eudaimony) enclose the sum.

URERE

Band:KRATER
Album:URERE
Label:Eisenwald
Format:Vinyl LP
Genre:Black Metal

URERE, Latin for burning, A word that fits perfectly for what KRATER stands in their musical direction and lyrical imagery. A blazing torch that starts as a smoldering ember and ends in a raging fire taking everything away. The honest fury that becomes an inner madness, burning you from inside. URERE is the 3rd full length record for KRATER. Created with blasting whirlwinds, and the gloom of low tempo, URERE was composed with the mind of combining the most diverse musical outbreaks to create a fitting soundtrack of reflection for a disturbed personal vision. The music and lyrics hover in a state of hate, lunacy, frustration and cathartic outbreaks. URERE speaks to the listener on numerous levels, using influences of Black-, Death- and Doom- Metal in synergy with different vocal styles from screaming, choirs, and whispers.

“ The album is a blast from start to finish" STEREOGUM

STAY AWAY FROM BOYS

Band:JANEY AND THE RAVEMEN
Album:STAY AWAY FROM BOYS
Label:SOUNDFLAT RECORDS
Format:Vinyl LP
Genre:Garage Punk

Janey & the Ravemen pick up the beat baton from where the legendary Kaisers left off and deliver a sound so
authentically 1964 it hurts. The Ravemen include in their all star line up not one but two of The Kaisers founding
members alongside former members of The Rapiers & Fabienne Delsol. This brand new and highly promising
mixture produces a sound which will not disappoint, British Beat at its finest. When listening to their sound it
becomes obvious these boys & a girl have the same American R&B influences that the bands back in the day had.
ThinK BERYL MARSDEN / LULU / SANDRA BARRY backed by THE ROULETTES / SWINGING BLUE JEANS and you won't
be far wrong. Solid pounding back‐beat with skilful, pure guitars, perfect harmonies topped with the irresistible
versatile female vocals compliments of the 1st woman of beat Janey.
Now the time has come for their very first album STAY AWAY FROM BOYS to be issued (both as LP and CD) on
SOUNDFLAT RECORDS! It is a classic already, which should under no circumstances be missing in your record
collection. Lady Janey and her male support will take your breath away with their excellent compositions and
masterly covers. Among those you will find a brilliant version of the song „I just don’t understand“, known by ANN
MARGRET and THE BEATLES, and a cover of „It’s so right“ by THE SWINGING BLUE JEANS. STAY AWAY FROM BOYS
is authentic 60’s Beat in the manner of Hamburg’s Star‐Club and will manage to charm each and every one of you.

With A Carrot And A Stick

Band:THE MERGERS
Album:With A Carrot And A Stick
Label:SOUNDFLAT RECORDS
Format:cd
Genre:Garage Punk

Germany's hottest beat‐sensation THE MERGERS are back with their second album “With A Carrot And A Stick” and
live up to the earlier success of their smashing debut album “Monkey See, Monkey Do!”. Their sound is of
unaltered quality with ingenious musical arrangements, catchy authentic beatpop‐sounds and beautiful harmonies
that give you goosebumps.
The album consists of thirteen self‐composed tracks, starting off with the absolute hit “Shop Window Dummy”,
followed by the powerful, danceable “Little Barney”. You'll be mesmerized by the harmonies in “Pie In The Sky” and
the “Achilles Heel” as well as the dreamy ballads “Please Don't Let Me Know” and “Oh Lord”. “Hunt The Hamster”
stands out as the only instrumental on the record, that fits in perfectly with its cool, surfy elements. “You Set Your
Life” reminds one of THE BEATLES' White Album with cool guitars and elaborate songwriting. No wonder, the boys
from Nuremberg have already conquered the big stages at international scene‐festivals! Their stage power is
infectious and their songs invite to sing and dance along to.
THE MERGERS have once again produced an album, that is without a doubt among the top recent albums. Singer
Jerry Coma's stunning, clear voice, catchy guitars, a stomping beat, fantastic, versatile songwriting, and hit
melodies all contribute to a very round album that leaves nothing to be desired.

LOOSE AT PBS RADIO MELBOURNE

Band:KING SALAMI AND THE CUMBERLAND 3
Album:LOOSE AT PBS RADIO MELBOURNE
Label:SOUNDFLAT RECORDS
Format:Vinyl LP
Genre:Garage Punk

We all know by now that wild Rhythm’n’Blues‐maniac KING SALAMI and his CUMBERLAND THREE have long taken over
Europe, the USA and Japan with their unique sound, their party‐attitude and their unforgettable live performances – last
summer the boys even went on an Australian tour, where they also played a frantic live‐show for the “PBS Radio” in
Melbourne. Now these live recordings came out that epic, so that thankfully the boys decided to preserve them for the rest of
the world as well and made a PICTURE LP out of the whole session on no less a label than Soundflat Records.
But KING SALAMI AND THE CUMBERLAND THREE’s „Loose At PBS Radio Melbourne” is not just an album that reproduces one
of their crazy live‐shows – it is much more than that; this picture‐lp, in a superb design made by drummer Eric, is a visual treat
and contains new interpretations of a variety of their songs, most of which you cannot find on vinyl anymore. The sound
quality is just amazing and the energy on this record is electrifying ‐ a brilliant rough Rhythm’n’Blues sound with crazy Garagepunk‐
guitars and beats, and a cool saxophone together with the king’s unmistakable howling add up to an insane party‐record
that won’t let you sit still. After doing the climb and trubbeling ma juju girl you’ll find yourself howling for your woman, shakin’
it wild and of course finally doing the wurst with these boys like there’s no tomorrow!
This brand new picture‐LP is really something else by your favourite R&B‐Garagepunkers and it is strictly limited, so be fast and
get yourself a copy before it’s too late!

MINIMAL ANIMAL

Band:THE LINK QUARTET
Album:MINIMAL ANIMAL
Label:SOUNDFLAT RECORDS
Format:cd
Genre:Instrumental

The legendary kings of hammondbeat, LINK QUARTET from Italy, have released six records, several singles, digital releases and
appeared on numerous compilations and guest appearances since 1993 already. Now the jazzy, funky instrumental quartet
around the virtuosic Paolo “Apollo” Negri release yetanother fantastic record, this time on SOUNDFLAT RECORDS, that has a
Mod/soul/jazz‐feeling to it.
“Minimal Animal” is all LINK QUARTET‐originals and all instrumentals with absolutely divine, mindblowing hammond‐organsoli,
a jazzy beat, groovy guitars and catchy melodies. Incredibly cool, funky, danceable sounds (such as “Black Bug”) mixed
with one or the other calmer song with laid‐back jazzy wah‐wah sounds and finally even groovy, ska/rocksteady‐offbeat,
hammond‐driven songs like “Peacock Steady” altogether combine into a well‐rounded album from beginning to end.
With this record, Soundflat Records enters a slightly different/new spectrum of sixties‐sound and adopts one of Europe's, if not
worldwide, best hammondbeat‐acid jazz‐bands to the Soundflat‐Records‐family.
This band combines hammonddriven beat and jazz so well, that not only Mod‐ and Funk‐lovers will love this album, but due to
its variety of different influences it will appeal to a much broader crowd from all different kinds of musical backgrounds and
leave them more than impressed.
"Minimal Animal" is a welcome back home album for The Link Quartet, 13 original instrumental tracks (the CD includes two
bonus tracks) of pure raw funk, minimal and aggressive, where the screaming Hammond organ of Paolo Apollo Negri duets
with the acid wah wah guitar of Marco Murtas over the rocky rhythm lines of Renzo Bassi (bass) and Alberto Pato Maffi
(drums). The quartet is back on the track of the long and prolific tradition of bands like The Meters, Alan Hawkshaw, Jackie
Mittoo and many others but don't forget to keep an eye on the future to serve a unique cocktail of retro futuristic tunes. With
this album The Link Quartet is making a new start, building a new future starting from its own roots.
