Terra Cirus

Band:ELECTRIC FAMILY
Album:Terra Cirus
Label:SIREENA
Format:cd
Genre:Kraut / Space Rock

Founded in Bremen by Tom "The Perc" Redecker, from the beginning the project became a multimusical
association, which knows no boundaries and seems to feel comfortable in every genre , regardless of whether it is
prog-, Kraut-, punk-, jazz- or folkrock. It's not surprising that numerous musicians from such diverse bands as Amon
Düül II, Die Ärzte, Grobschnitt, Boa's Voodoo Club, Lokomotive Kreuzberg, Pankow, Rockhaus, Mojo Club,
Emsland Hillbillies - to name only a few - joined THE ELECTRIC FAMILY in the studio and on stage. For their
second album, "Tender", 1999, THE ELECTRIC FAMILY had almost received the German Critic Record Prize, and
to the third album "Ice Cream Phoenix" American rock writer David Fricke (Rolling Stone) wrote the liner notes!
"You can get lost in this music," was his enthusiastic conclusion, and in principle this assessment may be valid for all
albums (and performances) of THE ELECTRIC FAMILY. multimusical association, which knows no boundaries and
seems to feel comfortable in
In the summer of 2016, with The Perc (vocals, guitar, bass), Harry Payuta (vocals, sitar, bass) Rolf Kirschbaum
(vocals, guitar) and Hanno Janssen (drums) four original band members gathered in the studio with Anders Becker
(keyboardist of the legendary Mandra Gora Lightshow Society), and Steff Ulrich, drums and percussion.
In just two and a half days the job was done, and the recordings finished.
One can say without exaggeration, that "Terra Circus" has become the most powerful and impulsive album of the
Electric Family. The energy is almost tangible, and especially guitarist Rolf Kirschbaum (The Pachinko Fake, ex-Witt,
ex-Fehlfarben) rages as if it were about his life. But the whole band is presented in the very best condition: Harry
Payuta shows repeatedly that he is one of the best sitarists of the time, analogue keyboardist Anders Becker shines on
his keys, the two drummers Janssen and Ulrich push and push forward uninterruptedly, and bandleader The Perc holds
the band together with his 6 or 12 strings. The deeply self-contained cover versions were always the salt in the soup of
the Electric Family, "Lucrecia, my Reflection" of the Sisters Of Mercy is a psychedelic monster with sitar support, and
"Mary, Mary so contrary" from CAN grows to a passionate contribution with Slide Guitar and a three-pipe organ solo
in the key part. Redecker, Payuta and Kirschbaum alternative with each other behind the mics, and the album ends
with the jam session "The Dreamboat", and after that, nothing can happen!

Shango Over Devil's Moor live 1976

Band:MOMBASA
Album:Shango Over Devil's Moor live 1976
Label:SIREENA
Format:CD
Genre:JAZZ/JAZZ ROCK

MOMBASA was a European-African band, put together by LA trombonist Lou Blackburn (1922-1990) in
1973. All of their albums between 1975 and 1981 have been recorded in Germany. The trombone of Lou
Blackburn carries the lead on most tracks - snaking out wonderfully over the grooves, with a quality that's
amazingly soulful, and which almost has him standing head to head with Fred Wesley as a 70s innovator
on his instrument. Other members of the group include Doug Lucas on trumpet, Bob Reed on percussion,
Alan Tatham on drums, and Don Ridgeway on electric bass. A great ensemble that knew to mix together
jazz and African roots with a sound that's unlike anyone else we can think of - quite unique in its approach
to rhythms, sounds, and solos!
On September 2, 1976 MOMBASA entered the stage at legendary STAGGE's HOTEL in Osterholz-Scharmbeck
and provided an inspiring and brilliant performance. The complete performance has been preserved and digitally
reworked. We are very proud to present this unique audio document.

BLURRED HARMMONY

Band:The Parson Red Heads
Album:BLURRED HARMMONY
Label:YOU ARE THE COSMOS
Format:CD
Genre:Psych/Folk

The Parson Red Heads’ 4th full length record, Blurred Harmony, is a 44‐minute distillation of
everything the band has musically cultivated, internalized, and learned over their past 13 years
writing and playing together. From the pedal steel soaked cosmic jangle of album opener
“Please Come Save Me”, the Paisley Underground riff‐driven “Coming Down”, the ambient,
harmony‐bathed ballad “What Have I Become”, all the way to the four‐part power‐pop suite
that closes the record, Blurred Harmony could be looked at as an aural‐primer of the band’s
various musical loves and influences, projected through the lens of the band’s trademark
sound.

Calm Girls

Band:Pillow Queens
Album:Calm Girls
Label:SPECIALIST SUBJECT
Format:7 Inch Vinyl
Genre:Alt Rock

Debut 7” EP from Dublin's queer, all girl, indie rock group, Pillow Queens!
Self-released late last year Calm Girls, captures three confident and fully realised songs from a band barely 6 months old.
Recorded in the shell of a house that was abandoned by its owner after the economic crash with the help of producer Peter
Ashmore.
The title Calm Girls is an ironic nod to the band's anxious nature. Throughout the EP expect themes of despair, crisis of self &
distrust. Closing with Wonderboys which the band describe as “an attempt to put into musical form the feeling you get when your
eyes roll back into your head when faced with toxic masculinity”.
While taking influence from artists from contemporary US DIY indie & punk scenes (such as Mitski, Waxahatchee, Hop Along,
Cloud Nothings, PWR BTTM), Pillow Queens stay true to their Irish heritage, using Dublin colloquialisms in their lyrics and
singing in thick Irish accents.
With new music and touring planned for the rest of 2017, think of this as the perfect introduction to your new favourite band.

Plastic Surgery LP

Band:HEAVY TRAFFIC
Album:Plastic Surgery LP
Label:TWIN EARTH
Format:Vinyl LP
Genre:Stoner/Doom/Occult/Sludge Metal

Probably a smart move on the part of Heavy Traffic spearhead guitarist Ian Caddick and
drummer/vocalist Tav Palumbo to swap coasts from Santa Cruz to Brooklyn ahead of putting
together their sixth full-length in three years and Twin Earth Records debut, Plastic Surgery!

LP for fans of Holy Serpent and Hawkwind!

Amen 3 - LP

Band:Mikko Joensuu
Album:Amen 3 - LP
Label:SVART
Format:Vinyl LP
Genre:SINGER/SONGWRITER

The greatest home‐grown music ever made in Finland.”
Rumba magazine (Finland) on Mikko Joensuu’s Amen 1.
“Unparalleled in Finnish music.” Soundi magazine
(Finland) on Mikko Joensuu’s Amen 2.
Svart Records is thrilled to release Amen 3, Mikko
Joensuu’s third solo album. The Finnish singersongwriter’s
new album is more than the follow‐up to the
critically acclaimed Amen 1 and Amen 2: it is the final
chapter in the story begun by its predecessors. Each
album is part of a triptych, with Amen 3 integral to the
whole picture. Yet, still, Amen 3 stands on its own.
